Excursions Pašman
Pašman (63 km square, long indented coastline ) belongs to the larger island group. It is connected with the bridge with the neighbouring island of Ugljan ( the narrow of Ždrelac ). In front of the island itself , alongside the channel of Pašman ( in some points not more than 2 km wide ), just like the shining pearl necklace lay dozens of isles, an area ideal for all sorts of water and subwater activities , such as sailing, scubadiving and so on.
The sea current in this area changes it's course every 6 hours. That is the reason why the sea is here at it's clearest in the whole of Adriatic. It is ecologicaly preserved zone with verious species of healingly and aromatical herbs, vineyards, fields and olive plantages nearby numerous sandy and pebble beaches. It is truly the best choice for those who seek rest from the hectic city life, stress, noise and pollution. The continuity of life goes on in these parts way back from the primeval history and evidences for that are still standing ancient ruins of the tribe of Illyrs, roman villa rusticae aside of the catholic monastery on the little island of Čokovac nearby the village of Tkon.
The typical islander villages on the north-east side of the island are well connected with the modern road and inhabitants traditionally do agriculture, fishery and nowadays even tourism.

Biograd
Biograd is very well known tourist center. Moreover it has it's historical importance, too. Namely, it was first mentioned in the written documents as a Croatian coastal town in X and XI century and the crowning place of Croatian kings.
Biograd today is situated in the middle of the road between two airports - Zadar and Split, and on the main tourist coastal road as well. |
