Welcome to Split
Split is the largest city in Dalmatia. It is most renowned for the Diocletian’s palace which the roman emperor Gaius Aurelius Valerius Diocletian, native of Dalmatia, had had him built to reside in. An open space surrounded with columns called Peristil is located in the palace. Peristil has served as a place of gathering and holding various events. The cathedral of St. Domnius, a patron saint of Split, is located on the east part of Peristil. Apart from very interesting cultural heritage, Split has much more to offer. You can enjoy a stroll down beautiful promenades and beaches, delicious food, good music and friendly hosts.
